With the opening up of the economy, as an effect of
rapid Globalisation, has changed the face of the
developing economy, such as India's. West BengaI is
not far behind in the broader spectrum of growth
and rapid Industrialisation.
The State Gouernment has already taken the
initiative by which new Engineering Colleges has
been setup at Kalyani, Haldia, SaIt Lake and even in
the districts of West Bengal, offering degree courses
in the thrust areas.
More and more qualifted engineers would be
required by the State to provide for manpower
requirements currently, as well as for the future.
Our Institution, the Calcutta Institute of
Engineering and Management is an addition to this
list, set up with the support from the State
Gouernment.
I am sure, this Institute will reach its goal of
developing and training Engineers and Managers
who would spearhead the development of our
country in the years to come.
